Four research project teams from the University of Washington have been selected to participate in the Department of Energy (DOE) Genesis Mission, a national initiative that leverages AI to accelerate breakthroughs in energy, discovery science and national security.
The funded projects at UW include advanced sensing technologies, protein design for microelectronic applications and astronomy data infrastructure, illustrating the potential impact of AI across a wide range of disciplines and specialties. As awardees, these project teams will have access to the Genesis Mission Platform to support their work, including resources like AI frameworks, advanced AI models from industry partners and high-performance computing resources.
These UW researchers will have the opportunity to play an important collaborative role in driving innovation at universities, the nation and beyond.
