AI@UW announces SEED-AI 2026 grants, with awards of up to $50,000 available

Woman studies on a laptopThe University of Washington AI@UW Initiative is now accepting proposals for the Supporting Educational Excellence and Discovery with AI Grants (SEED-AI 2026). Faculty and teaching staff can apply for grants ranging from $1,000 to $50,000 to fund projects that explore how artificial intelligence can enhance teaching and learning. Applications are due February 1, 2026, with awards announced on or around March 1, 2026.

Funded by the Charles and Lisa Simonyi Launch Fund for Artificial Intelligence, SEED-AI supports innovative projects that apply AI thoughtfully to improve education, inspire future developments, and benefit the UW community. Projects with broad impact, such as those serving large numbers of students or creating resources for faculty, will be prioritized.
