Inaugural UW exposition showcases responsible AI research

Event attendees engage in a small-group discussionThe University of Washington’s first Responsibility in Artificial Intelligence Systems and Experiences (RAISE) Winter Exhibition highlighted pertinent research on responsible artificial intelligence, featuring work from four Information School Ph.D. students. Hosted at the Paul G. Allen Center, the event highlighted how AI has increasingly affected everyday life — emphasizing the critical need for responsible development.

The researchers presented findings ranging from how large language models support knowledge-seeking processes to how LLMs perceive stigmatized groups different from humans. The event included a wide range of participants, with university researchers and high school students involved, and ended with collaborative discussions on how to shape a more responsible AI future.
